Metcam has expanded fiber laser cutting capacity at its Alpharetta, Georgia facility to better serve high-mix, precision sheet metal programs — including data center cooling components, electrical enclosures, and OEM assemblies.
High-mix work rewards machines that change jobs quickly and hold tight kerf and nest efficiency across gauges. Added laser capacity reduces contention between prototype releases and steady production lots, which is often where schedules get squeezed.
The investment pairs with existing punch, form, weld, powder coat, and assembly capabilities so customers can keep fabrication and finishing in one Made-in-USA supply base rather than splitting the BOM across multiple shops.
OEMs evaluating capacity for upcoming builds are encouraged to share forecast windows and nest complexity early. That visibility helps Metcam reserve the right mix of laser time, press brake hours, and finishing slots before the critical path tightens.
